About the Trek
This classic trek is a gateway to the Himalayas, providing an immersive experience that goes beyond being a mere tourist. The journey encompasses breathtaking mountain views, a serene lake reflecting massive peaks, dense forest trails within the Kedarnath Wildlife Sanctuary, and alpine meadows. The trail culminates with a summit of Chandrashila peak, offering a panoramic view of the surrounding Himalayan peaks.
The Trail Unveiled:
To reach our trek base in Sari village, your journey begins following the Alaknanda till Rudraprayag. Passing through Rishikesh, Devprayag, and Srinagar, you’ll then follow the Mandakini river to reach Ukhimath town. The scenic drive from Ukhimath to Sari promises breathtaking views of valleys and occasional glimpses of mountains.

The trek encompasses diverse landscapes, from Deoriatal, a mesmerizing lake at 2380 m/7800 ft, to the pristine forests and blooming Rhododendrons around Chopta. Wildlife enthusiasts can rejoice in the Kedarnath Wildlife Sanctuary, possibly spotting Himalayan Thar or the Himalayan Monal, the state bird of Uttarakhand.
Tunganath and Chandrashila Peak:
A visit to Tunganath, the highest Shiva temple among Panch Kedar, and the ascent to Chandrashila Peak above the temple add spiritual and adventure dimensions to the trek. The return trip from Chopta tests your stamina and endurance, offering an opportunity to witness captivating sunsets and Himalayan views.

Best Time to Trek: Choose this trek almost year-round, except during the monsoon. Each season presents a unique spectacle, from blooming Rhododendrons in spring to the clear mountain views in autumn and winter.
How to Reach Sari Village: Sari village in Rudraprayag district is 220 Km from Haridwar. Transportation options include a pre-arranged pickup or independent travel via a direct bus to Ukhimath from Haridwar. From Ukhimath, a private vehicle can take you to Sari.
