Overview
Bagji Bugyal Trek: A Blissful Stroll Amidst Majestic Peaks
Embark on a delightful journey with the Bagji Bugyal trek, a short but captivating hike nestled in the far eastern flank of Chamoli district in Uttarakhand. Perfect for beginners, families, and those seeking a quick escape to nature, this less-explored trail promises breathtaking mountain views, making it an ideal getaway.

A Symphony of Peaks
Bagji Bugyal offers a unique charm as even the short and easy walk provides uninterrupted mountain views. The trail showcases the imposing Trishul massif, Mrigthuni, and a series of peaks in Kumaon. Catch glimpses of Nandaghunti, Bethartoli, Devtoli, and Maiktoli, creating a picturesque panorama. The easy walk begins at Ghes, an interior village even by Himalayan standards, gradually leading through Oak and Rhododendron forests.
Soothing Meadows and Panoramic Peaks
In approximately 5 hours, the trail unfolds the transition from forests to alpine meadows, locally known as Bugyal. Ascend to Bagji Bugyal Top, where breathtaking views of Maiktoli in the northeast to Chaukhamba in the northwest open up on clear days.
