Sarutal Trek is a hidden gem in the Himalayas because it is a serene Lake hiding amid meadows at a height of 4,200 meters in Govind Wildlife Sanctuary of Uttarkashi like many other treks. Sarutal was also explored by the shepherds in search of grasslands and it is located amid meadows surrounded by high peaks. Therefore, its picturesque setting and surroundings attract many trekkers every year.

From here get astounding views of (Black Peak – 6387 Meter), (Bandarpoonch peak 6300 Meter), (Ranglana, Peak 5896 Meter) (Swargarohini (I) (II) (III) 6200 Meter) and other snow-covered mountains.

Booking:

  • We assume that you have read and understood our “Terms & Conditions” (https://greenvalleyhimalayas.com/terms-and-conditions) before Booking a trek/tour.
  • To reserve your place in a scheduled Fixed Departure trek or a Customised/Private trek pay 25% of the TREK/TOUR FEE as the initial “Booking Deposit”. You can pay by Net banking/Draft/Cheque/Credit/Debit/AMEX cards. This will ensure your participation in the desired trek and we will reserve your place in the scheduled date. You need to pay the remaining amount at least 15 days before Trek Starting Date.
  • If you book a Trek/Tour before 14 days or less from Trek/Tour Starting Date, you need to pay the full TREK/TOUR FEE.

 Cancellations:

  • “Booking Amount” i.e.25% of the TREK/TOUR FEE is Non-Refundable at any stage.
  • If in case you are not able to make it due to unavoidable reason(s), we provide you a very flexible choice of Shifting to another trek within next one year. One year is counted from the starting date of the trek/tour you booked initially with us.
  • In case you postpone your trip you need to informminimum of 15 days before the trek/tour starting date. (Though we suggest to inform us earlier if known)
  • In case you postpone a trek/tour before 15 days of the scheduled Trek/Tour Starting date or prior, you may shift to another group of the same trek/tour scheduled in the same season or within next one year. You may shift to another suitable route also. For changing any, you need our approval first. Your request must be in written communication through your registered email with us.
  • If you cancel/postpone a trek/tour from 14 days to 8 days before tour starting date, your Booking Amount is Non-Refundable. We will not take any request of shifting dates. We will charge 50% of the amount as Cancellation Charges and process refund of remaining 50%. You may also shift to another group within next year but 25% Booking Amount will be deemed as Cancellation Charge and the rest amount will be transferred to the shifted group.
  • If you cancel a trek/tour 7 days (i.e. a week) before Trek/Tour Starting Date or later, there will be NO REFUND.
  • In case of any unforeseen incident including but not limited to natural calamities like flood, earthquake, landslide, forest fire or any political unrest, if we are compelled to cancel the trek/trip, you will be entitled to redeem the full amount for the same/similar kind of trek/trip within next one year.

Day 1 : Pickup from Dehradun Railway Station and Drive to Sankri (base camp) by taxi

First of all, green valley himalayas organizes transport for trekkers from Dehradun Railway Station in the morning which will leave for Sankri around 6:00 am to 7:00 am.

Dehradun is the capital of Uttarakhand and one of the most beautiful places in India. The main attraction of this place is Rajpur road go through it and get a glimpse of Dehradun’s beauty. Reach Mussoorie after an hour which is also known as “Queen of Hills”. People visit it heavily during vacations with their family and friends.

After half an hour, stop at kempty fall. Have breakfast there and witness people from different parts of the world. The break will be of maximum 1 hour. Ahead the peaks are visible and further you will come close to holy Yamuna River. If you want, then take a short break of 20 minutes and enjoy being around it.
Then Reach Purola Market around 1:30 pm and take a break there for lunch. After having lunch proceed to Sankri base camp

Reach check post Naitwar. They will ask for Aadhar cards and some other details. Ahead lies Sankri, enjoy the drive and the wait is soon going to be over. Reach trekkers paradise and the main market of Sankri.

Go to home stay, freshen up and enjoy evening snacks in the open terrace with great views. You will be provided some details after which you can go for evening walk but be at the home stay for dinner.
Enjoy delicious dinner and spend comfortable night in the mountains.

Day 2 : Trek from Sankri to via Juda Ka Talab to Kedarkantha Base Camp

 Total distance  – 8 Km – 6/7 Hours Trek

 Mode of journey – On foot

 Altitude – Kedarkantha base camp – 3200 Meters

 Night Stay – Camp in tents – on twin share basis

Today, the heartwarming morning is eagerly waiting for you to wake up. Feel the peace amid the mountains; no connectivity and no materialistic thing is here to disturb you, the only thing is peace.

Relish the hot cup of coffee/tea at 6:00 am and get ready for your breakfast at 7:30 am. You have to strictly leave at 8:30 am after the instructions of your guide.

The trek starts from Sankri to Kedarkantha base camp which is 8 km away. After a little walk from the main market witness Swargarohini peaks (I, II, III) which will mesmerize you.

After 20 minutes of hike the beautiful Saur village will come into sight, all the houses there are made of wood. Here are home stays which serve delicious organic local food.

Some names of the local places are – Goteka, Boiroka ligudiya, Posla, Jainola, Kuwamohli and then Juda Ka Talab. And Reach Kedarkantha base camp

Move further through pine forest and reach your campsite from where the Kedarkantha peak shines tall and relish the great views! Afterwards enjoy hot lunch.

Have evening tea/coffee, snacks, soup and explore the area. Dinner will be served after which you can rest for the night.

Day 3 :Trek from Kedarkantha base to Kedarkantha Summit (3800 Meters) and follow to right trail to Dunda Thach

 Trek Distance – 10.5 Km – 6/7 Hours Trek

 Mode of journey – On foot

 Altitude – Dunda Thach – 3200 Meters

 Night Stay – Our Camp site – on twin share basis

Today is the main day of your trek, so be ready at 4:30 am in the morning to witness sunrise from Kedarkantha summit. Nothing can be better than watching rising sun from the summit because then the views are jaw dropping. Whoever watches it gets mesmerized.

Light breakfast will be served at 4:30 am then the trek with start. It is important to use headlamps. Trekking in dark is really fun but only with professional guides. Soon you will reach just below the Kedarkantha summit.

The ascent to top is 1.5 km long but the efforts will be worth. Move ahead with everyone and the soft sunrays will fill your heart with joy. When the sun is about to rise, reach the top (3800 m) and capture some of the best moments of your life.

There is the temple of Lord Shiva and Ganesha, seek their blessings and get awe struck by the panorama views of stunning Himalayan peaks. Spend good time with your group and after an hour get ready for the follow Dunda Thach trail reach evening camp enjoying the nigh here.

Day 4 : Trek from Dunda Thach to Taloti Thach.

 Trek Distance – 11 Km – 5/6 Hours Trek

 Mode of journey – On foot

 Altitude – Taloti – 3789 Meters

 Night Stay – Camp site – on twin share basis

Have breakfast and head to Taloti Thach. On the way, you will come across a temple of Lord Shiva, Parvat and Ganesha. The distance to be covered is probably 11 km, there are few steep sections cross them and reach your campsite.

Because Taloti Thach is a lavish meadow with beautiful surroundings and amazing views of Himalayan peaks.

So, Set up your camps and after having delicious food retire for the night.

Day 5 : Trek from Taloti to Saru Tal camp

 Trek Distance – 10 Km – 5/6 Hours Trek

 Mode of journey – On foot

 Altitude – Saru Tal   – 4200 Meters

 Night Stay – our Camp – on twin share basis

Today, the trek is a mixture of ascents and leveled walks. Cross several meadows and ridges to reach the pristine Saru Tal.

Above all Saru Tal is a unique glacial lake amidst meadows in the picturesque surroundings. The Black Peak, Bandarpoonch, Swargarohini (I) (II) (III), Bali pass Trail, Dhaldhar kandi pass are clearly visible from there.

So This trail further goes to Fachu Kandi Pass. Set up your camps near Sarutal Lake, enjoy the panorama views and relax for the night.

Day 6 : Trek from Sarutal to Taloti Thach

 Trek Distance –10 Km – 5/6 Hours Trek

 Mode of journey – On foot

 Altitude – Taloti Thach – 3789 Meters

 Night Stay – our Camp – on twin/three share basis

Post breakfast; retrace your steps through meadows and ridges. Reach Taloti camp and retire for the night.

Day 7 : Taloti Thach to Taluka market (13 km) (6/7 Hours) same day Drive to Sankri (11 km) (1/2 Hours)

 Total distance – 13 Km – 6/7 Hours Trek

 Mode of journey – – On foot – 13 km – By taxi 112 km

 Altitude – Sankri – 1920 Meters

 Night Stay – Hotel – on twin share basis

Today you will get back to Sankri but via Taluka.
Descent till Taluka is easy but is careful while coming downhills because most of the people get their ankles twisted.

Hence We Enter in a thick forest the trails are very confusing so follow your guide.

Also, The Langoors are easily spotted here hanging from trees to trees. After a short trek, come across a village and you can see there are cows and goats at every house.

Therefore Reach Taluka after half an hour, it is a village with some shops. The vehicle will be arranged from here to reach Sankri and the arrangements will be made in a hotel there.

Day 8: Drive from Sankri to Dehradun Bay Taxi

Finally, It’s your last breakfast on this trek with the GVH team. The certificates will be given and after some beautiful photos, we will bid you all a goodbye from Sankri.
